DIG Fundraiser April 25th 4-6PM

If You are not familiar with DIG and the work they do check it out. This is, of all the charities and fundraising we do, my favorite. Since malnutrition in HIV/AIDS patients is a problem that can be addressed in a very real, cost effective, and time efficient way. DIG installs micro-gardens in hospitals, outpatient facilities, and orphanages, ensuring a steady supply of quality vegetables to their kitchens. They literally grow food from garbage. Each project serves as a working model for its community providing knowledge, increased nutrition, sustainable part-time employment, as well as possible expansion into other areas. During DIG’s time at site, its staff conducts educational sessions and on the job training for participating outpatients, local gardeners as well as any interested hospital staff.

This is currently being achieved in 3rd world countries throughout Africa and the Dominican Republic with hopes of expanding to countries in South East Asia. Please join Ono Sushi in helping this amazing charity. There will be a Meet and greet with Steve Bolinger and Sarah Koch the co-founders of DIG. There is a $25 suggested donation at the door. Besides this the fund raiser will include a live and silent auction including treasures collected by Steve during his world travels and wine and hors d’oeuvres provided by @onosushi. Ono Sushi will be participating in a fundraiser at the Sushi Theatre downtown for the San Diego Council on Literacy. We will be offering tastes with Chefs Bernard Guillas & Ron Oliver The Marine Room, Chef Matt Gordon Urban Solace, Chef Anthony Calamari Suite & Tender, Chef Cesar Castillo Cafe Sevilla, and others to be paired with local vinyards and breweries to raise money for this worthy cause.
